Eucharistic Procession with Archbishop Vigneron from the Cathedral to the Seminary

June 19, 2022 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

On June 19, 2022, the Archdiocese of Detroit and dioceses across the United States will begin the National Eucharistic Revival. This three-year grassroots revival of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist will foster a “movement of Catholics across the United States, healed, converted, formed, and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist—and sent out in mission ‘for the life of the world.’”

The Revival will begin locally with a Mass at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, followed by a Eucharistic Procession from the Cathedral to Sacred Heart Major Seminary. I write today to invite you and your families to consider joining me for the Mass, Eucharistic Procession, or both. You can learn more and RSVP by visiting www.aod.org/eucharisticprocession

This is the first of many opportunities available for the faithful in our dioceses to be part of this revival in the next three years.

It is providential that the beginning of the National Eucharistic Revival aligns with our archdiocesan Year of Prayer for Priestly Vocations. Throughout the next year, we will be celebrating two of the greatest gifts we received from Jesus: the gift of the Eucharist and the gift of the Priesthood. Even if you are unable to attend Mass or the Eucharistic Procession on June 19, I encourage you to join me and all the faithful of southeast Michigan in praying for a blossoming of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, and for God to call forth a new generation of holy priests to share the Eucharist in our local Church.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

The Most Reverend Allen H. Vigneron
Archbishop of Detroit
